Kerrlene Wills has been appointed the Chairperson of the Committee of Subsidies and Countervailing Measures under the Council for Trade in Goods at the World Trade Organization for 2022-2023.
Guyana will be chair one of the most important Committees in the Council for Trade in Goods at the World Trade Organization. That Guyana’s nomination went forward without objection from Members is a testament to the WTO Membership’s faith in Ms. Wills’ knowledge of the WTO Agreements and leadership in the organization as well as Guyana’s commitment to multilateralism.
On May 23rd, WTO members reached consensus on a slate of names of the chairpersons for the 14 subsidiary bodies that report to the Council for Trade in Goods. The chair of the Goods Council, Mr Etienne Oudot De Dainville (France), thanked members for their constructive spirit and flexibilities in reaching consensus before the 12th Ministerial Conference, which will take place on 12-15 June.
